Monthly Projects

My journey as an artist right now is about stepping away from my screen and diving into the act of making and doodling. I’ve always found joy in getting my hands messy, carving, cutting, and experimenting with new materials and have lost track of it over the years. Each project I make is a meditation, a love letter to the process of making and the act of putting finished pieces of art into the world.

July

This little sticker is for all the long roads trips with Tammy aka my old Tacoma. She always inspires creative ideas. When I’m on the road my mind relaxes in a way it doesn’t at my desk. Lots of voice memos and wonky sketches later this sticker emerged. A little ode to the places our vehicles take us. For those still reading this is my lil monthly project for July! Crazy how the time goes.

June

Mini sticker buddies. June is the best month! Winters still around in the north cascades you can lounge on the beach or float the river. I had a lot of fun doing the things I love this month and these stickers celebrate my love of nature and play. These stickers were not handmade but I did really enjoy drawing them on my new iPad!

May

This month was all about documenting my surroundings and making analog animations out of the footage. I spend a lot of time playing outside taking little videos on my phone. I wanted to make some clips that celebrated spring weather. Watching clouds for signs of wind, enjoying some spring snow, picking flowers, watching the swell come in.

April

This month, I began each day by drawing a different face as a warm-up exercise. I then incorporated these faces into upcycled products. This project also allowed me to experiment with new apparel designs, providing an opportunity to refine and simplify my concepts. I aimed to create something straightforward and wearable, avoiding over-complication.

March

I created a series of four paintings inspired by an idea that came to me after a day of skiing last winter. My aim was to capture the three-dimensional feeling of skiing in powder, particularly the sensation of sinking in and bouncing back up again. To achieve this, I played around with some perspective, adding inconsistent depth to parts of my paintings in hopes of creating an abstract winter wonderland world.

February

Custom Kincos is a labor of love project, sparked by a Kinco glove show I joined at a Snowboard Shop in Bellingham, WA. What began as crafting a design for the show swiftly evolved into a passion project as I delved deeper into the creative process. The more gloves I made, the more I realized the potential to share these unique designs with others. Please enjoy the 3 unique designs I made for you to choose from.

January

Introducing 'Zoomies'—a vibrant celebration of moments spent skiing with friends in the mountains. This print captures the essence of those 'zoomie' moments, where the thrill of the slopes sends yips, yeees, and yehooos echoing through the air. As we navigate through a milder winter, it feels essential to cherish and focus on the joyous reasons that drive us to venture out and play in the snow. Embrace the spirit of adventure with 'Zoomies' and let its dynamic energy inspire your space.
